This is a first for me in a long time. I am flew Southwest for the first time since 1991. I must admit I was concerned. I knew they had some crazy boarding system and no assigned seats on the plane. The experience far exceeded my expectations. Everyone was helpful and nice and to my shock, they let you check 2 bags with you ticket, instead of gouging you like every other airline I have flown in the last 4 years. The only negative experience was a gate agent that was to busy on a personal call to answer my question about the boarding process. I was the 51st person in boarding group “A” and had no problem getting a seat and room in the overhead bin. The flight crew was pleasant and the captain made a better than the normal announcement from the flight deck, meaning he really said something interesting instead of the typical “The weather at our destination is, we will be there on time about XX PM”

On board you can use you tablet or smart phone to watch T.V. for free on the inflight Wi-Fi or track where your plane is.  The Wi-Fi on my flight had pretty decent speeds.

The snacks were pretzels and honey roasted peanuts and the typical selection airline selection of Coke Products. To drink. The snacks were a pleasant surprise. My very first memory of flying on an airline was the honey roasted peanuts I got on that short flight on the old Southern Airways. From Huntsville, Al to Memphis, TN.

After this experience I will again add Southwest to my list I will fly, especially when I am flying on business. Still not sure I would want to wrestle my children and all of their stuff on a plane without knowing who was sitting where.
