This is another Malbec from the Mendoza Region of Argentina. I have been fascinated with these Malbecs for over a year now.
The Malbec presents tones of fresh blackberries and cherries to the nose. Menage a Trois Malbeb has the tones of black berries, blueberries, dark cherries and spices to build a complex dance of flavors. The wine is a dark red color. As most Malbecs, this one is dry and has a slight harsh finish. I would pair Menage a Trois Malbeb with grilled beef and a sweet chocolate dessert.
Malbec is one of the traditional blending grapes used to add oomph to Bordeaux blends. Originally from France. growing in the shadow of its more famous cousins, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec finally found its true home—and the praise it deserves—in the warm, sunny climate of Argentina’s famous Mendoza region where the varietal can reach its fullest potential. Here, the small, dark, juicy grapes express an intensity befitting their adopted South American home, which Argentinian winemakers translate beautifully in every bottle.
