Lori’s Salt Caramel Syrup boasts rich vanilla flavor with a hint of maple and a dash of salt for a versatile syrup that complements any breakfast dish. With only four all-natural ingredients, all you get is pure flavor in this beautiful golden syrup. It starts with a base of caramelized cane sugar then gets rounded out with Tahitian vanilla, GMO-free Boyajian maple and French Celtic sea salt hand-harvested from the Bay of Biscay. Your pancakes and waffles will get a boost, but this heavenly syrup doesn’t stop at breakfast. Use it to sweeten lemonade, tea, coffee or smoothies. One taste of this all-natural, preservative-free syrup is all it takes to say goodbye to the artificial ones hiding in your cabinet.

prof._syrupI served it to my family on waffles, it was an instant hit. In fact it went so fast I almost did not have enough for the other recipes I wanted to try it out in. With the salty and sweet combination and the small amount left over after breakfast, I decided to try something different. Instead of making salted caramel frosting or another dessert I used it to sweeting a rub and brine for smoking a small Boston Butt. This might have been one of the best BBQ decisions I have ever made. It really worked out perfect. It imparted just the right amount of sweet into the meat. This will be added to my list of secret BBQ rub ingredients from now on.
