After seven weeks of shelter in place, I finally going to the store to find a new beer to try. Standing here looking in the beer case in my favorite supermarket I must admit I was kinda overwhelmed. After lots of debate in my mind, I chose Agave Americana from Wild Acre Brewing Company.
Wild Acer describes the beer this way.” Agave Americana is a medium-bodied, refreshing ale brewed with premium malts and a healthy addition of blue agave nectar to deliver an earthy characteristic. Lime is added after fermentation to impart a citrus flair, and an element of refreshment to make this a beer perfect for the Texas Summer climate”
With an AVB of 6.3 and an IBU of 15, this is a great beer. It is ideal for chilling by the pool on a summer day. The Blue Agave really comes through. The beer pours slightly hazy amber orange. Poured out of a can, the glass gets topped with a white head that is light and dissipates quickly. The aroma is full of sweet agave notes and slightly bready. The flavor is sweet agave and light earthly flavors. Agave Americana finishes softly. The low bitterness makes this a very drinkable beer.
