Juice Pack is the second of my reviews from the twelve-pack from Tupps. I found this sampler pack with three cans or four different beers from Tupps Brewing.
The Pour
Poured from a 12 ounce can, Juice Pack is a pale yellow-orange color, very turbid, looks more watery than creamy. Nice and thick white head that lingers for a while. To the nose, this has a juicy, tropical aroma with a bit of overripe fruit in the background. Orange, mango mostly. There’s also this weird body lotion smell I’m trying to figure out.
The Taste of Juice Pack
The first sip follows the fruity nature of the nose well, with again orange and mango leading. A bit light, which I’m okay with given abv and style. The beer moves to a nice bitter finish, which lingers. There are some nice lemon/lime and additional citrus notes, a bit of pine. The mouthfeel
Brewers Description of Juice Pack
“Juice Pack is a juicy, hazy double-dry hopped pale ale bursting with fruit flavors. Keep Cold. Drink Fresh.”
The Brewery
Tupps Brewery has a sense of place. They are proud to be in Texas, in the city of McKinney, and located at the historic Cotton Mill. They believe that beer is greatly enhanced when enjoyed with close friends or people who will soon be good friends. This can be accomplished in the bars and pubs or with your neighbors in the backyard. Really anywhere you will find Tupps beer.
You can also have this experience visiting the brewery. At the brewery, they have created an environment that embraces the era of the historic Cotton Mill. When you visit the brewery, you will be immersed in the old Texas feel of the Cotton Mill.
Opinion of Juice Pack
Juice Pack is an interesting beer. At first, it is not a 30 on the IBU scale, but it does finish there. This is a very drinkable beer and I will be looking forward to having it again in the heat of the summer. My only hesitation is that body lotion part of the aroma when I open the can at first.
By the Numbers
ABV 5.5%
IBU 30
