I was looking for the next beer to write about I came across Legal Grounds. This is a seasonal coffee lager brew from Legal Draft Beer company.
Legal Grounds pours a dark reddish gold. This was much different than I was expecting. The beer formed head about a half-inch thick. The head is bright white. The aroma of Legal Grounds is predominantly coffee as you would expect with hints of bread and cracker in the background.
Legal Grounds as, you can guess, taste prominently of coffee. Also, flavors of malt and just a hint of chocolate are lingering in the creamy finish.
Brewers Description of legal Grounds
“We partnered with our friends at Salter Bros. Coffee Roasters here in Arlington to create this unique golden coffee lager. A rich aroma of your morning coffee complimented with lactose for a creamy mouthfeel and clean lager finish.”
According to the founders Legal Draft Beer Company came into being because the great state of Texas simply doesn’t have enough great craft beer. Located in Arlington Texas, not far from AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field a retired attorney and a medical logistics manager decided to open a brewpub in their hometown. We have indoor and outdoor areas to sit and enjoy our beer with friends and family. We have food trucks on-site most Saturdays.
Opinion of Legal Grounds
I was a little shocked by how much I liked this beer. The fact that this beer is not overly bitter is a hit with me. I would recommend this as a beer to hanging out with friends in the afternoon. Legal Grounds is a great beer for the post-holiday season.
This is not a beer that reminds me of the bitter coffee that I sometimes got in the Army. The coffee that had been brewed at 0300 and had been in the cambro staying warm until the breakfast meal arrived at the assembly area at 0600
By the Numbers
ABV 5.7 %
